Larkin, Philip (Arthur)
(9 ago. 1922, Coventry, Warwickshire, Inglaterra–2 dic. 1985, Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire).

Poeta inglés. Larkin, quien se educó en Oxford, fue nombrado bibliotecario de la Universidad de Hull, Yorkshire, en 1955, oficio que desempeñaría por el resto de su vida. Escribió dos novelas antes de hacerse conocido con su tercer volumen de poemas, The Less Deceived [Los menos engañados] (1955), que expresaba la sensibilidad antirromántica imperante en la poesía inglesa de su época. Entre sus volúmenes de poesía posteriores destacan Las bodas de Pentecostés (1964), Ventanas altas (1974) y Aubade (1980). All What Jazz [Todo sobre jazz] (1970) contiene ensayos que escribió como crítico de jazz para el The Daily Telegraph (1961–71).
